Information for current and prospective COACHES: Very important - coaches who use the lights at night at Rochdale - BE absolutely SURE you're not shutting off THE AUXILARY Switch. This controls the timer for the sprinklers which the Highway Dept has to reprogram each time we accidentally shut it off. It takes them over an hour to reprogram each time. We should only be touching the POLE switches and not the AUX which is the TOP right switch. Apparently it has occurred 4 times so far this season, so please be careful. State sanctioned coaching clinics are available at all levels.
Information on these clinics will be available at the pre-season
meeting. STATE LEAGUE BYLAWS The LSC is requiring all coaches to read through and understand the MYSA League Bylaws and Constitution. This is extrememly important since non-compliance to any of these rules is grounds for sanctioning or removal from the state leagues. COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT ALL LSC coaches are to adhere to the Coaches Code of Conduct. These guidelines ensure that we are keeping the focus on the players and their development and enjoyment of the game. They see us as an example to follow. An important rule that we sometimes forget is: TRAVEL COACHES REFEREE CARD Cancelling Games If you need to cancel a game, PLEASE contact your coordinator!!! They know what to do to have the game and referee canceled. Kid's Safe All coaches are required to fill out a "Kid Safe" form before they can coach. This form must be completed and returned to their coordinator or the registrar before the season begins. **THIS IS A REQUIREMENT!** For information about this rule and to download the form, please link to MYSA Risk Management. KidSafe also has an online registration which can be found at: MYSA KidSafe Online Registration. If you choose to register online, simply inform the registrar or coordinator that you completed the online form. All coaches must contact the LSC field coordinator for practice times. These practice times will be posted on the practices webpage. Please adhere to the schedule as the times and fields are limited. The most important fact to remember during the season is that we are here for the players. It is the reponsibility of the coaches to convey the messages of teamwork, sportsmanship and most importantly that the primary goal is to have fun rather than win the game at all costs. If the players see us not only saying this message, but acting according to it, then they will learn from us and act that way. All coaches will be required to attend a pre-season meeting to help prepare them for the coming season. Coaches will be given their rosters, uniforms, and equipment at that time. Coaches, please tell your players and the parents about the website and let them know which team they are on to assist them in finding their schedule and to watch for cancellations. | |

We dedicate this page to the volunteers that give up their time to give our kids a chance to play sports. We welcome suggestions and comments. We are looking to further develop a "guidebook" that we could offer to novice coaches next fall. Seasoned coaches are invited to submit advice and tips to help these poor souls. |
